FAIR RENTS COURT.

PROTEST BY BUILDERS. [l'mtkd Press Association.l (Received 8.00 a.m.) Sydney, March 20. Now that the Fair Rents Court is in operation, huilders and estate agents are proclaiming that the Act seriously affects the building trade, and that already a considerable amount of money intended for investment in the' construction of dwellings has been withdrawn. The object of the Act is the fixing of a net return of six per cent., and they point out that money for a large class of speculative building cannot be obtained below this figure, and that such a limit will kill that class of builder. It Ts urged that the rent be made to advance in proportion to the ratio of the increase in the cost of the building.
