"SOLDIERS' DAY!"
MEETING OP COiMSVHTTEE. A meeting of the Committee in connection with the "Soldiers' Day" Floral Fete was held last night, when Mr D. J. Malone presided, and there were present: Messrs A. F. Grant, J.' Masters,. W. Lander, H. E. Abraham, J. W. Boon, A. J. Davey, G. W. Mills, G. Bradley, J. Rowe, F. Foley. W. V. Wilson, C. Jackson, J. Shot tor, W, P. Kirkwood, 'I?. Dingle) T. Header, J. McMillan, J. S. McDonald, S. M, Porritt and R. Masters (secretary). The Chairman, in explaining the business of the meeting, said that lie and Mr Kirkwood had interviewed the sfcationmaster, and satisfactory arrangements for excursion trains could be made. Mr McDonald was elected convenor of the committee to act in conjunction with the Ladies' Committee; Mr Bradley, procession committee; Mr Abraham, committee to solicit entries for decorated motor vehicles event; Mr J. Masters, gate committee; Mr Kirkwood, advertising committee; Mr Foley, side show committee; Mr Boon, ticket committee; Mr Malone, sports committee. Mr Malone was'elected convenor of the executive committee. Messrs Dingle, Boon, Shotter and Grernhoefer were appointed a ticket committee. After a good deal of discussion, Mr Boon moved, "That a special Executive Committee be formed consisting of seven members.—Carried. On the motion of Mv Shotter, it was decided that tho special Executive Committee consist of the conveners of the different committees. Messrs Marshall,, Foley and Lander were appointed a Music Committee. The Advertising Committee was authorised to make arrangements for the printing of the tickets.
Mr McMillan moVed: "That a charge of Is be made for all horse and motor vehicles and saddle horses for entrance to the accommodation paddock."—Seconded by Mr Lander and carried. It was decided to make a charge of Is (children half-price) for the stands. The Chairman suggested that a small committee be appointed to elicit the sympathy of outside districts.— On the motion of Mr McMillan, Messrs Malone, Kirkwood, R. Masters and Boon, were appointed a committee. It was decided that the General Committee meet every Wednesday i ievening.
