HARVEST FESTIVAL.

A well-filled hall greeted the Methodist Church Choir last night at the Salvation Army Harvest Festival gathering. Adjutant Cook introduced the Choir, whose opening hymn. “We Plough the Fields and Scatter.” was well rendered. Adjutant Hughson then engaged in prayer, and the programme was then proceeded with as follows Recitative, “Behold the Fowls.” solo, “Consider the Lilies,” solo, “He Causeth the Crass,” anthem, “0 Lord how Manifold,” recitative and solo, “Seed time and Harvest,” hymn, ‘Thy Goodness Lord.” hymn, “Holy is the Seedtime,” solo, “We Thank Thee Lord,” anthem, “Thou Crownest the Year,” hymn, “Come Ye Thankful People.”. During an interval, a comprehensive vote of thanks was proposed by Adjutant Hughson and heartily carried by all present to the following, viz.: The Choir and Church members for their programme; Mr Robert Jackson for fitting out the hall with i-watt lights for the occasion; Mr T. C. Grubb for kindly use of splendid piano; and to Messrs C. Martin and Co. for loan of trellis work for decoration. The following items were then given:—Glee, “Softly Fall,” reflation. “Pa’s Intishiation,” by Mr T. Ranford, was screamingly funny, and was much enjoyed; Ladies’ trio; Yiolin solo, Miss Hopkins; Me-, s trio; anthem, “Incline Thine Ear.” This concluded the programme, and the audience joined in singing the Doxology, and the Rev. A. Reader pronounced the Benediction. , 'Adjutant Cook announced*that the Harvest Festival will conclude' tonight with a programme by the Young People and others, after whifjh Mr T.
