THE TIMES’ HISTORY ,OF THE WAR, > ; United Peesb Absooiahoit. London, March 19. The Times’ History of the War, in completing the story gf the, Dardanelles campaign, says thht the real ultimate cause of the failure, -was probably not due to the general* nor to the untried troops in Suvla, neither was it the lack of water nor defective staff work in some sectors,, though all these were important contributory factors. The dominating factor and finpl cause for the failure ws# difficult and diversified character of the terrain, and the very great advantages which the area gave to. the Turks. From first to last it was their misfortune to be too late, and there the fault lay pi-in-cipally.
