The death is announced from London of Rev. A. Stopford Brooke, LL.D., at the age of 83. He was Chaplain-in-Ordinary to Queen Victoria and minister at a Vest Lnd Church before he seceded from the Church of England. He was wellknown as a poet and brilliant literary critic.
