TROUBLESOME FIREMEN.

THE MAORI HELD UP. Per Press Association. Christehurch, March 19. A number of the Maori's firemen arrived at Lyttelton this afternoon having travelled by the Westralia as passengers. They disagreed with the reason given for leaving the boat at Wellington, and stated the true reason was because tales were carried to one of the engineers from the •stokehold by one of the firemen. No.passenger boat, is leaving Lyttelton to-night, and the mails will be brought by the Kahika, a cargo boat. Several southern members of the reinforcements returning from leave wore; ) stranded at Christchureh, and arrangements were made' by the military' authorities to put; them up at the King Edward Barracks.
