j The Hon. T; Thompson, jVI.L.C:. is making a good recovery from' the motor car accident he met with at tlotoVua a short time ago. He has made such satisfactory progress that on Friday last all the bandages were removed and his arms placed under X-rays. It is quite probable that he will regain the use of both arms. Mr C. R. Tapper, who was injured in the same accident, is on the road to convalescense, and is able to walk about with the assistance of crutches.

The Rev. Father Goggan, of Temuka, met with a very painful accident on Saturday evening last, lie slipped on the stairs of the Temuka Presbytery dislocating his shoulder. Medical assistance was procured, but Father Goggan would not allow the joint to he bound up. as he would not then have been able to carry out his duties on-Sunday. Alter Father Goggan had conducted his two services, he allowed the doctor to attend to the dislocation, aud lie was then motored to a hospital in Christchurch. He is progressing as well as could be expected, but it will be some weeks before he is able to resume his duty.
