Advice has been received that Driver Geoffrey Whitcombe, of New Plymouth, has left Egypt tor France.

The death occurred in Nelson last week, in her 86th year, of Mrs Crisp, sen., widow of the late Mr Benjamin Crisp.

Mrs Lundius, New Plymouth, on behalf of the performers in the Fete of Nations, in a letter to Mr D. J. Malone, expresses sincere thanks to the ladies of Stratford for their hospitality and kindness on the occasion of the recent performance.

P.P.G.M. Bros. C. E. Bellringer, H. T. Ainsworth (New Plymouth), and F. Amoore (Eltham), have been appointed delegates from the Taranaki district at the Oddfellows' Biennial Moveable Conference, to be held at Grevmouth at Easter.

Sister Bernsten occupies the unique position of bping the second lady delegate to attend the district meeting of the Taranaki Oddfellows, which was held at Manaia yesterday, and is presently the Noble Grand of the Waitara Lodge. To mark the occasion she was the recipient at the hands of retiring Grandmaster, Bro E. H. Bellringer, of a handsome gold brooch on behalf of the delegates assembled. P.P.G.M. Bro. Brabant, Waitara, suitably responded on behalf for .Miss Bernsten.
