HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT Butter.—The market is very firm. There is a good demand for colonial, and prices are firm. Danish, slow, per cwt., 180 s to 184 s; New Zealand, 102,s to 101 s, fair to good quality 150 s to 1535, unsalted 164 s to 1665; Australian, 156 s to 158 s, unsalted 160 s to 1625; Siberian, a good demand for best quality, 126 s to 1345; Argentine, a fair demand, 148 s to 150 s, unsalted 154 sto 158 s; Irish creamery, a small supply, 156 s to 160 s.
Cheese.—The market is firmer. Canadian, no arrivals this week. There is an active demand, per cwt., 103 s to 104 s; New Zealand, available stock is small, notwithstanding recent arrivals. The market has advanced during this week. Holders are firm, 98s to 100 s; English Cheddar, firm market, 110 s to 112 s; Cheshire, very scarce, Ills up to 120 s; United States, firm market, a good demand, 98s to 102 s, flats 90s to 100 s.
