NATIONAL PARK BOARD.

| APPOINTMENT OF BOROUGH REPRESENTATIVE. At the Borough Council meeting last evening, Mr R. McK. Morison waited on the Council and stated that his term as the Council's representative on the National Park Board had practically expired. He reported on the work of the Board, and said the road to the mountain was in first-class order and the house could be reached by motor car in about half an hour from Stratford. Additions to the house had been erected and a telephone had been installed. About 90 chains of road bad been formed and graded. Many side tracks had been cut to beauty spots. Mr Morison said the thanks of the Board and the public were due to the local Mountain Club, and especially to its president (Mr JB. Richards), and the secretary (Mr T. Kirkwood) for* 1 their valuable services in creating -a public interest in the many attractions-of the mountain. The Mayor moved a vote of thanks to Messrs J. B. Richards, E. Jackson, and 'JY.'Kirkwood, members of the Stratford Mountain Club, for their assistance in keeping Stratford house before the public."—Seconded by Cr. Davey and carried.
