DEBATE IN THE LORDS.
MINISTRY OF AVIATION DE? MANDED. REPRISALS ON ZEPPELINS ADVOCATED. [United Press Association.] (Received 11.45 a.m.) London, March 11. Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, who is a leading authority on aviation, raised a debate in the House of Lords. He said he believed Germany had over' forty Zeppelins and nine bad been damaged hi twenty-five raids made on Britain. The anti-aircraft guns were feeble and the shells burst two thousand feet below’ the raiders. He demanded the creation of a Ministry ol Aviation, as air warfare was tremendously developing. LordLan'sdowne recognised there were serious shortcomings, but be had great hopes in Lord Derby’s committee of naval alid military advisers. Loi’d Bere'sford urges wholesale aeroplane attacks on Zeppelin sheds, and incidentally advised Mr Churchill to consult a specialist, for his mentality was evidently affected.
