AYLMER’S RELIEF COLUMN. SEVEN MILES FROM KUT. (United Press Association.! London, March 9. The Press Bureau notifies that General Lake reports that General Aylmer advanced on Monday to the right bank of the Tigris and reached Essim, seven miles east of Kut-el-Amara, which they attacked on Wednesday, but were unable to dislodge tbe enemy, who suffered very severely. Beyond strengthening their position the enemy has not shown any activity. Our casualties were slight.
