AN URGENT REQUEST. The following telegram has been received by the local recruiting committee:— “Enrol and haVe medically examined as many men as possible for infantry and mounted rifles to go into camp loth inst. Wire collect names men available up to 13th inst.” In connection with the request, the Committee would be pleased to receive applications from men willing to go into camp on the date ■ mentioned. WAR PENSIONS BOARD. FURTHER GRANTS. Wellington, March 10. Forty-nine applications for war pensions were considered by the Pensions Board last week and were dealt with as follows:—Pensions 18, allowances 28, refused 1, adjourned 2. Pensions were as follows:—Two at £9l per annum, two at £7B, seven at £52, one at £3B, and six at £26. Three appications from dependents were deiflt with.
