Baron Isliie (Minister of Foreign Affairs), speaking at a banquet attended by tlie Premier to the,American Ambassador, said the relations of America and Japan were never better nor so good, as they were to-day. A certain European Power sought to bring the two nations into conflict, but with the elimination of this sort of intrigue, their relations would yearly grow more ideal and more cordial.
