BAKERS NOT EIGHT PER CENTERS. (Received 9.5 a.m.) Sydney, March 9. The master bakers, at a meeting of protest against the bread proclamation, endorsed Mr Hall’s statement that they were unable to make a profit of eight per cent for the year. anti-strike legislation. (Received 9.5 a.m.) Sydney. March 9. The proposed Arbitration Amendment Bill abolishes the penal sections of the law .and proposes to institute punishment by the cancellation of the registration of a union striking or fomenting a strike. infantile paralysis at MANLY. (Received 9.40 a.m.) Sydney, March 9. In the Assembly, it was stated that over one hundred cases of infantile .paralysis had occurred at Manly. PROTEST AGAINST piXED PRICE OF WHEAT. (Received 9.40 a.m.) Melbourne, March 9. A deputation of members and representatives protested to Senator Pearce at the Wheat Board fixing the price for local consumption at four and nine ■per bushel. It was stated that the result was a loss to producers oi £450,000. Senator Pearce declined tc | take action.
