AMUSEMENTS.

HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. BIG' CIRCUS FILM. “The Lure of the Circus,” a thrilling Xordisk photo-drama, which incidentally depicts items in the performance of one of the “greatest shows on earth,” will be presented to-night at His Majesty’s r J heatre. The story is wholesome and interesting, whilst the glimpses given of the big circus performance reveals something quite new and novel. Another “feature” picture is “ r l be Starring of Flora Finchureh,” in which the Vitagraph Comedy Company appear in a merry mood, particularly so Miss Flora Finch. Tin's film is extremely funny. Other good items are: “Across the Great Divide” (Edison drama), “Topical War Budget,” “Trentino” (scenic), “Don’t Jump at Conclusions” (comedy), and a thrilling railroad romance of tjie “Hazards of Helen” series, entitled “The Perilous Chance.”

TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL, SOCIETY. I X

The annual show of the Taranaki Agricultural Society takes place on Wednesday and Thursday, and the prosepcts of a very successful fixture are very encouraging. Splendid, entries have been received in the cattle classes, whilst the competitions have drawn excellent support, good conipeti tion being assured in all these events. Townspeople, generally, and 1 settlers throughout the district are displaying much more interest in the forthfiomjng fixture than has been the experience during the past lew years. Liberal financial assistance has been forthcoming, thus proving a practical sympathy with the efforts of the Society; and with, the very largely increased membership, too, there should he a record crowd at the show. It is possible that some members who have paid them subscriptions have not received their privilege tickets, and, if so; they are asked to communicate with the secretary Mr A. L. Humphries, -it once so that the omission can he rectified. The show dates are Wednesday and Thursday next, March Ist and 2nd.
