At the inquest on the. scVCn victims of the railway disaster the evidence tended to show that the engine jumped the rails, owing to excessive speed when rounding a curve on a worn outer rail. N.S,W. STATE BREAD MONOPOLY (Received 9 a.m.) Sydney, February 24. Fifty representatives of the bread trade waited as a deputation upon-the Premier to protest against the monopoly. .Mr Holman quoted Wanganui in justification of their position, and said tiie Government would not stay its hand unless it was shown that the scheme was economically unsound.
