CHAPLAIN DENIES A RUMOR. rUnited Press Association. I Sydney, February 23. Father Manliffe, of St. Mary’s Cathedral. who has returned from Gallipoli, denies the oft-repeated story that he led a charge on Hill 60. He added that it was very good of people to credit him with the achievement, but he might mention that thiee doctors and two other chaplains had been awarded a similar distinction. LIST NO. 145. Senator Pearce (Minister of OeiVnre'l has announced that the federal Government has asked the New South Wales and Queensland Governments to provide early closing. No particular hour was mentioned, except in regard to the time soldiers returned to camp.
