THE ANNUAL MEETING. ' At the 11 nitii:il mootin'!; of the Snoioty in Elder’s rooms last evening, there wore present :—Messrs G. Sangster (President), R. MeK. M orison, W. MeDonnlcl, J. Petrie, 'i'. Smith, J. Penttie, I). Cameron, G. Hail, .1. Wade. J. Sutherland, \V. Homier, MeEarlane, A. F. Grant, and F. .1. McDonald. The President’s report for the year was as follows:—Ladies and Gentlemen —I have pleasure in presenting to you the balanee-slieets for the various funds for the year ending .'list January, 191(5. 1 feel eonlident yon will agree that considering the few active members, we have raised a large sum for a district like Stratlord. On January 2oth, 1910, a “Night wi’ Hums’’ was. held, which showed a credit balance of ,£2O. This was paid over vo the Stratford branch of the Helgian Relief Fund, in July a concert, Mock Court,' and gift auction sale was held, also the section of land presented to the Society by Mr G. Hall, was disposed of by ballot. Mrs Fulton, who drew the section, handed it back to our Society for disposal. The total netted from the functions mentioned was £l2do. Our Society also took in hand to assist in sending a nurse to Egypt, and a sum of £HU was raised in a short time for this worthy object. Mrs Hogg, the lady selected, is now unable to go, owing to an unlortunate accident to her son. Ihe sum of £dU sent fonvdrd to secure the necessary outfit and berth. Now, this amount has been applied lor, it being understood it would be refunded in the event ol no one going. Ihe attendance at all the meetings held during the year has been very small, but I feel sure it is not an indication that you are losing interest in the Society; the unfortunate war has taken so many of our boys that those remaining are kept very busy. The balance-sheet showed that the Society has a sum of LT9 Is Id on hand after the year’s operations. The Helgian Relief Fund heneJitted to the extent of £2l) by the Horns supper, the profits from ;which were voted to the Fund. The sum of L' 101 IDs was donated to the Nurses Fund, and is still available. Mr Morison congratulated the Society on the manner in which the work had been carried out, which showed that keen interest was being taken in the work. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. It was resolved to write to the Patriotic Society asking wind had heen done in regard to the art union ol Mr Jackson’s section, and whether they intended to continue with it ; otherwise to return to the Society all the hooks and proceeds of Hie tickets sold. OFFICE-BEAR ERS. Tho following were elected lor the ensuing year President, Mr G. Sangster ; Vice-Presidents, A. I*. Grant, J. Petrie, W, MacDonald, G. Smart and F. J. McDonald; committee, the members present; treasurer, A. F. Grant; secretary, F. J. McDonald. New Members.— J. Lockhead and G. Macintosh Young. Owing to the war, it was deemed advisable to postpone the Hums Festival to a future date to be decided upon.
