Official —The Arethusa was mined joff the Fast Coast, and it is feared, is a total wreck. Ten lives were lost. IN THE BLACK SEA, RUSSIAN FLEET BOMBARDMENT. ASSISTING THE CAUCASIAN CAMPAIGN. SIX BRIDGES DESTROYED. EIGHT SKIPS SUNK. (Received 9.50 a.m.) Petrograd, February 11. A naval communique states : Our fleet silenced a portion of the shore batteries at Vitza, south-west-ward of Batoum. We destroyed six bridges on a road along the coast and [sunk eight sailers. NORWEGIAN SHIP LOST. TORPEDOED OR MINED? (Received 9.50 a.m.) London, February 13. The Norwegian ship Alabama was torpedoed or mined. The crew was picked up. A SMUGGLER'S END. SET ON FIRE IN THE ZUYDER ZEE. CHASED BY A PATROL BOAT. (Received 9.50 a.m.) Amsterdam, February 14. The Dutch motor boat Speculant, laden with rubber, waste, margarine, linseed, and oil, ostensibly, bound from Amsterdam to Groningen, was suspected of smuggling, and was followed by a patrol boat. The Speculant dodged about the Zuyder Zee and finally was deserted after being set atire. INTERNED VESSELS DASH FOR LIBERTY. SECRET ORDERS TO ESCAPE WHENEVER POSSIBLE. TWO SUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS (Received 9.35 a.m.) , New York, February 14. The two German steamers Tunpen and Bahreni'eld, escaped from Punta Arenas (Chili), and Buenos Ay res (Argentine) respectively. All the interned vessels have received secret orders to mak a dash for liberty when possible. BRITISH STEAMER SUNK. ALL HANDS SAVED. Malta, February 13. The British steamer Springwell, bound for India, was torpedoed without warning. The officers and crew, numbering seventy-three, were picked up and landed here. CERMANY'S NEW POLICY. London, February 13. Herr Pereuse, in the Tageblatfc, 'thinks that the new policy removes many submarine snares. | The Lokal Anzeiger says that it will hit England directly, wearing 'away her vital nerves.
