TWENTY-EIGHT AIR COMBATS AN EFFECTIVE BOMBARDMENT. United Press Associat.on. London. February 7. General Haig’s report states that there were twenty-eight air combats on February 5. We downed six machines, and one of ours has not returned . A Paris communique -states that the Franco-British artillery bombarded the trenches at Boesinghe and silenced two batteries. Our bombardment of Xnvarin plateau on Saturday had excellent results. The trenches were wrecked, several ammunition depots were blown up, and reservoirs of asphyxiating gas were demolished. The wind drove the gas to the enemy’s lines.
