FIRE AT NEW PLYMOUTH.

BOARDINGHOUSE GUTTED

Per Press -associATioN. New Plymouth, February 7

A lire which broke out shortly after one o'clock at Cliatswortk House, a large boardinghouse, was not discovered till the flames had a good hold. Little furniture was saved, and the building was gutted. The owner aud occupier, Mrs Howell, was insured in the State Office, the figures being not available. Tbe water pressure was weak.

The boarders were at dinner and lost most of their effects.
