Hr W. T, Jennings, M.P., who has been on a visit to Auckland, returned to New Plymouth on Saturday. The death is announced from London of Mr W. Russell Rea, Liberal M.P. for Scarborough, at the age of -13. Mr George R. Drew, of the Telegraph Department, Wellington has been appointed wireless operator, under military control, at the Radio, Apia, Samoa. Colonel R. Logan, Administrator of Samoa, who has been in New Zealand, will leave for Samoa to-day by the Talune, to resume duty as administrator. He has not been notified whether the acting-administrator, Colonel G. W. S. Paterson, will return to New Zealand immediately. The body of Major J. H. Coleman was found by two fishermen, floating in the sea off Oakura on Saturday afternoon. It is undoubted Unit while walking on or near the Breakwater on Wednesday last, he was seized with sudden illness and fell into the sea. Mr A. Coleman, the late Major Coleman’s son, returned post haste from Rotorua by Saturday’s mail train, and was able to he present at the interment this afternoon. Much sympathy is expressed with Mr Alfred Coemau and other members of the family in their bereavement.
