NEWTON KING'S HAYMARKET REPORT. At my Hay market sale on Saturday last pigs were yarded well above the advertised numbers, and all lines sold remarkably well. Large stores still /maintained very satisfactory prices, but smaller sorts were easier than usual. I quote as follows Weaners (small) 6s 6d to Bs, medium 9s to 11s, good 10s to 15s, stores (small) Ids’ to £l, medium 26s to 80s, good £2 2s to £2 7s. HORSE SALE AT HAWERA. The Loan and Mercantile Co.. Ltd., held their annual sale of thoroughbred horses at Tattersall’s, Hawera, on Thursday morning, when there was a good attendance of the public. The following sales were recorded on behalf of Mr J. Davidson : Gelding, 3 years, by Husbandman— The Rook, P. W. Scally, New Plymouth, 11 guineas. Filly 3 years, by Husbandman— Cross guard, W. W. Awdry, Hawera, 25) guineas. Filly, 3 years, by Husbandman— Shedden Park, A. Alexander, New Plymouth, 18 guineas. Gelding, 2 yeqrs, by Husbandman —Beautiful Star, H. J. Eaves, Otakeho, 25 guineas. On behalf of Mr D. Barry— Filly, 3 yeaa-s, by St. Paul, dam by St. Cyr (half sister to Project), G. Mattock, Hawera, 6 guineas.
