NATIONAL REGISTRATION.

In a preliminary statement issued of the result of the National Register, 6090 singfe men and widowers without dependents* stated they were not prepared to volunteer for the Expeditionary Fores, nor to serve in other capacities. These have now been analysed, and the results, said the Hon. G, )V. Russell to-day, are as follows :— ■ Religious or consciencious objection, 19; for business reasons, 2237 ; personal reasons, 3131; political reasons, 260; miscellaneous reasons, 204; no reasons stated, 1739.
