Herr Harden, in a recent issue of his paper; "Zukunlt" (publication of which has now (been stopped by the German Government), says it is dangerous for Germany if she believes that the Allies want peace. He warns his countrymen that war. so far as Russia itnd England are concerned, is only just, beginning, and that worse fighting is ahead. He urges that the Chancellor should state Germany's intentions about the terms of peace. The "Frankfurter Zeitung" says:— "At a time when our armies, week af-
ter week, are compelling from an astonished world the tribute of unwilling admiration, when our industries and finances are celebrating victory alter victory, the insufficiency of the Government measures against the food shortage of tne people is a dfrect defeat."
