I Mr Bonar Law’s statement in the House of Commons appeared to put New Zealand in an. invidious position, and the Defence Minister took steps to ascertain if the report of what was * said was correct. To-day the Minister ; received a reply from Mr Bonar Law stating that what he Had said was that . It was decided to hand the evening’s receipts over to Mr McMillan, secretary of the Taranaki Provincial Patriotic Association, to be transmitted to the Serbian Relief Committee.
