THE FARMERS' FREEZING WORKS.

The Ohura Advocate iu its last issue .•tays;—Ohura is to receive a visit front some of Taranaki's most progressive men, to la\ before the settlers of this district the benefits to be derived by the wholesome support of their enterprise. That we are a part of Taranaki there is no denying and every day brings this iaeb more convincingly home to us. Our store stock trade which a few years ago was practically nil, is now of very considerable importance, both to and from Taranaki Our main arterial loads- of any importance lead direct into Taranaki. Ihe first fat stock buyers to visit Ohura this season, came from Taranaki. On top of above facts, we are to have a visit from progressive and influential Taranakites, who are going to push their end of the stick to convince us that by supporting the Farmers’ Meat Freezing Works is going to be to our great advantage. The fact that one freezing buyer, for a private company is now operating in the district and another freezing company is wooing ns for our, support, ought to convince the most pessimistic, that encouraging this competition is going to be an asset on Ohura’s side of tho ledger, and the second enterprise being a farmers’ concern entirely ought to receive the farmers’ support, in order to obtain all advantages and concessions that go with shareholders privileges. The railway is* another factor that has no doubt been carefully considered by our Taranaki business men and realising that they can now offer ns the best of conditions, they are not delaying to make their interests our interest, and it is hoped that their venture will he a success and that tiie farmers of Ohura will give it their best support.
