Times report of the Cup race was as follows:—Snub and Blackall carried most of the money. At the start Adjutant flopped hack and stayed behind most of the way. Emerson took Taringamutu to the front at once, and the filly howled along, setting a hot pace. Behind her were Rewi Poto, 'Sir Solo, and Square Deal. This order prevailed past the stand. At the mile, Square Deal had run up to second place, with Rewi Poto next. This was the order, too, at the six furlongs, with Master Montua corning up strongly. Emerson still had Taringamutu going along gaily, as if I nothing could stop her, and at the I bend First Glance was lying just behind Square Deal, with Tangihou and Master Moutoa handy. As the field swept past the stand, lice, who had received a hump at the bond, burst through with a great rattle, and Balboa came out of the ruck. Taringamutu retired, tlie distance heating her, after a very game race. Bee 'went along, and secured the verdict by three-parts of a length, gaining at every stride. First Glance, who earned more than she received in honours, was a length to the good of Balboa. Taringamutu was fourth, then came Welcome Nugget, Square Deal, Master Moutoa, Blackall, and Riualdo, with Sir Solo last. Time, 2min 31 3-ssec.
