, _ THE FOKKER MACHINE. | i THE ALLIES’ v. GERMAN AIR SERVICE. United Pukss Association. (Received 8.0 a.m.) London, January 21. Some papers are leaturing the exploits of the German Fokker aeroplanes, suggesting that they are | stronger and faster than ours. They 1 point out that seventeen of ours have been downed since 16th December. Dio Fokker carries an immovable j nachine and tires straight ahead. Tlie use of the Fokker is said to be re- i dricted, because only a superaviator can pilot it. , Mr Tennant, in the House of Com- j moms, replying to i(iiestions on the l subject, said the main duties of aeroplanes were to reconnaisance for arid- ; lery work and offensive fighting. if the Germans adopted the offensive and came behind our lines we had machines equal in speed and ellicicncy to the ' Fokker. Our air service had given a ] good account of itself.
