TO BE OR NOT TO BE.
if Stratford is to take a part in the “Hattie of the Bullion” which is being promoted in Mew Plymouth it would be as well to know where we stand and whether Taranaki is, or is not, unanimous in supporting the proposal as a Taranaki venture. The excellent citizens of the Port desire to make the effort a very lug one and to have tiie assistance of Inglewood, Stratford, Eltham and Hawera. Certain over-enthusiastic statements have appeared regarding “Stratford falling into line” in a Mew Plymouth journal; but so far no step lias been taken by any one in Stratford in the matter. If the scheme is a good one it ought to he heartily supported. It is suggested that the Mayors of the towns interested might call public meetings to decide one way or the other. So far as Stratford is concerned we think that would he the proper course to take.
