FIRE IN AUCKLAND.

A fire in Rutland street early this morning completely gutted the thieestorey brick building owned by Mi James Webster, contractor and builder. Mr Webster occupied the ground floor, and a local furniture linn had a small quantity of goods on the second floor. The third floor was occupied by the Garrison Artillery Band and the Auckland Mounted Rifle*’ Band, which jointly lost their music and instruments valued at £250, and only partly insured. Mr Webster’s insurance on the building and contents of the first floor is £2500 in the Queensland office.
