The first day of the Wellington Racing Club's meeting was held to-day in line weather, and before a large attendance. The going was good. Results : Trentham Welter, of 200 soys, one mile.—Black Ada 8.11 1, Hinemann 8.8 2, Rongoro 8.0 3. All started. Won by a head, the same distance between second and third horses. Time, lmin 42 2-ssec. Nursery Handicap, of 400 sovs, five furlongs.—Egypt 8.13 1, Sweet Tipperary 8.5 2, Killena 7.12 3. Hyttus, Tino Atua, Carlatour, Kilkee and Wrestler were scratched. Won by half a length, with a neck between second and third horses. Time 59 4-ssec. Anniversary Handicap, of 300 sovs-, one mile.—Ladoguer 8.8 1, Arrat 8.0 2, Moulu 8.8 3. All started. Won comfortably by two lengths, with a neck between second and third horses. Time lmin 41sec. Trial Plate, of 200 sovs., seven furlongs.—Dribble 1, Weekend 2, Pyjama 3. Also started: Shaki, Seadown.
