I DISCOVERY OF ANTI-GERMAN PLOT. Dniteij Prkss Association. Constantinople, January 15. The German secret police have discovered a vast revolutionary plot to overthrow the Government and expel the Germans. Numerous arrests have been made, and many Turkish officers are compromised. The police have been doubled, and Constantinople has been transformed into a centre of espionage, which .paralyses commercial and private life. ) TURKISH OPPOSITION TO OFFENSIVE. vSaionika. January 16. Now that Gallipoli is abandoned, and Constantinople is not threatened directly, the Germans are chagrined to find that many influential Turks are actively opposing any offensive, arguing that Turkey gratly needs rest. It is pointed out that though considerable forces of Turks have been sent to Palestine the season for an attack |on the Canal is getting rather late.
