A JAPANESE LOAN. United Press Association. Petrograd, January 6. Japanese bankers have agreed to lend Russia twelve million pounds sterling. GERMAN REVERSE ON RICADVINSK FRONT. (Received 1.25 p.m.) Berlin, January 6. On the Riga-Dvinsk front a German reconnoitring detachment withdrew before a superior Russian force. At Volhynia the Germans dislodged the defenders from one of the advanced .Russian positions.
RUSSIAN SUCCESSES. (Received 10,45 a.m.) London, January <i. Petrograd advices show thai Czennowitz was made untenable owing to the Russian successes. Austria- admits that a portion of Czernowitz has been evacuated. Russian airmen are daily bombing the town, and these successes deprive the enmey of the Czenowrtz-Zaleszcsiyki railway.
