(From Our Own Correspondent). ■ On Itith Decenioery 4lic annual concert, and prisso-givirig look place in the School, Mr A. (;. Rutherford being in tlio chair. The usual song and recitation concert was dispensed ivitu, giving place to a series of tableaux and dialogues, which were excellently performed, and should prove a forerunner to others of a similar nature. HjyßoCOc'k! 5 It'Would he liaVdHb; mdiyidn'iilfse, but special' mention 'must be made of Miss Perrott, whose whgtihg of the ' song "Caller Herrin" in' character, was especially good; Of the children, Master R. Evans' rendering of the introductory speech was a remarkable surprise. necessitating the learning of a speech full of mistakes, malaprops, and mispronunciations, while Master R. CarmichaeJ's impersonification of a doctor was acted almost to perfection. These proceeding were terminated by a farce "Hound and Square," acted in great style by the following:—Mrs Meuli, landlady; Mis s Perrott (Dr. MeWhiskey's niece) Oladys; Mr A. Eraser, Di\ MeAYhiskoy; Miv W. Stewart '.Miss Bella 6ellfhgham) actress: Air C. Tod, round; Mrs J' 11. Bocock, square; Mr E. Meuli, waiter. The embarrassing situations in whicli each of the actors was frequently placed caused a great deal of laughter, the piece was much' apreciated. The acting of each had to lie sen to be appreciated. The thanks of the community are due to Mesdames Tod and Heaven, and Mi- Boeock, for the time and trouble taken in preparing both the grown ups and children, the latter of whom responded in great style, and fully entered into the spirit of their parts. After the prizes had been distributed by the Chairman, supper was served, and'dancing was indulged in until the early hours of the morning.
