300 MEN WANTED AT ONCE. ANOTHER APPEAL FROM THE PREMIER. Per Press Association. Wellington January 4. : . Mr ilassey.issued the following appeal this evening:—"The holiday Reason is now coming to an end t and. I take this opportunity of impressing • mi the young men of r,he Dominion" that, approximately, 300 recruits are wanted to go into camp at once. These are required for the Eleventh Bein-'.■ forcements, and I trust that the vacancies now existing will be filled in a very few days. The Defence author!-/ ;ties are, however, naturally anxious 4 that training shall proceed regularly.' and properly, and that every New Zea~." laud soldier shall have had, . before/ leaving his own country, sufficient'. training to fit aim for the very im- , portant duties that later he will be called upon to undertake. Hence th» urgency of the request that is being; made. Wounded and invalided met • are now coming back to New Zealanc . in considerable numbers—men who ] have done their full duty on the battle field, who deserve well of their fellow- . citizens, and whose places must be ' filled. I have no hesitation in saying , that in the present crisis it is the duty ' , of every young man whose circumstaJV ces will allow of his leaving this~ country to join at the earliest possible., moment with those, whether in .camp: or in field, who have already their patriotism and loyalty, by res T> ponding to their country's call."
