FATALITY AT FITZROY. United Press Association. (Received 9.11 a.m.) Melbourne, January 5. A tragedy occurred at Fit/.roy. A man named Raymond Victor Dawson gave himself up to the police and confessed to fatally shooting Vera May Parks. Dawson avers that the woman stayed the night, with him, and in the morning he followed her into.the kitchen carrying what he supposed was an unloaded revolver,, and pulled the trigger, but instead of an audible click the revolver went off, killing the woman. Dawson was arrested and charged with murder. (Received 9.11 a.m.) Brisbane, January 5. The revenue amounted to £3,446,534* an increase of £S 1,56 f for the; coi responding period of 1914.
