OFFICIAL PROGRESS REPORT. i The High Commissioner reports:— London, December 28 (2.5 a.m.) In Belgium the enemy’s parapets were destroyed and a blockhouse blown up. Yesterday we exploded a mine at Hill 140, and the enemy was unable to occupy the crater. In the Champagne district the enemy’s attack was repulsed. In the Vosges, ’ north of Hinge, an enemy battery casemate wash destroyed.
ARTILLERY FIRE IN VOSGES. FRENCH ADVANCE REPORTED. •The High Commissioner reports: — London, December 28 (4.50 p.m.) In the Vosges there is .intense activity of. the artillery on the whole front at. HartiriansweilleTkopj. On Sloped Hill at Kehfelseu an attempt of the enemy to leave his trenches was stopped by a French curtain of fire. The Germans state that the French advanced early this morning to Hil/etein.
