AXEMEN’S CARNIVAL.

THE DAY’S RLoULTS. Favored with unsettled weather conditions, the Now Zealand Axemen’s Association’s fifteenth annual championship meeting, hold at 'Jaumata Bark yesterday, was not so largely attended as in previous years. Time, 5.25. Three Mile Handicap, of £6.—Griffin (scr) 1, Parkes (100yds) 2, Collingwood (250yds) 3. Phillips and O’Keefe also started. Griffin caught the other competitors at the two-mile peg and took and took pace from Parkes, who was leading. At the beginning of the last lap the • bunch was headed by Griffin, who was closely followed by Parkes. Won by a half a machine’s length, with a length separating second and third competitors. The catering was in the capable hands of Mrs Foster, of Eltham.
