The Minister, Mr Jensen, has decided that in future the alterations to the transports must be carried out by the Navy Department. The work was previously entrusted to private firms, but this proved unsatisfactory. Mr, Jensen is now entrusting the work to farious unions, a foreman of each union concerned being appointed and each foreman made responsible lor the construction to the branch of the Navy Department which buys all the materials, the unions to select their own foreman.
