The Stratford Pacing Club is doing 'nothing by halves. Having engaged 1 the Wanganui Garrison Band to play iat its race meeting, the Club has also [arranged for a patriotic sacred concert to be given by the band at the Nga!ore Gardens on the Sunday between the race days, the date being 2nd January. The Wanganui Garrison Band has an Australasian reputation, •u.d is second to none in the Dominion. [The band will give its services free, and likewise Mr Tvuelove, of the Nga'ere Gardens is giving the use of Ins beautiful grounds free of charge. An entrance fee of one shilling will be made for admission to the Gardens and the proceeds handed over to the Patriotic Knuds. As it is anticipated that a large number ol vehicles and motors will assemble at Ngaere on the date mentioned, special provision has been made for their accommodation. Visitors will be able to purchase light refreshments, including afternoon tea. The people of Taranaki may with confidence look forward to a delightful

musical treat and the beauty of the Ngaere Gardens .will appeal to everyU)UO.
