Recently twins were registered I ,n Nelson who are to bear respectively the names of “Dardanelle” and ‘’Bella Salonika.” Lieptenant Athol Hpdson, of the ,9th Reinforcements, was to-day selected as the, New, Zealand; Rhodes scholar for 1916.- He is a .son of pad late, Dr!,.Tames Hpdson, of .Nelson, and was educated at the Waitaki High School and Yicjpria, College. PA. -- , An Auckland Press. Association telegram states: Whelan, the soldier who committed suicide, was habitually abnormal in his manner. Yesr,today he stated lie would give himself up to the police, fearing that he. would be courtmartialled for conduct which was disrespectful to lm|. there was’ no ground for these fears.
