Mr J. G. Hannah, of the Public i Works Department. Stratford, has received notice cancelling his transfer to Kelson, on account of other departmental changes. Messrs Pryce Roberts (Manaia), William McKee < Whangamomona), have been passed as medically fit for the infantry section of the Reinforcements. Tlie Belgian Consul at Wellington, HoiV C. J. Johnston, has five sons either at the war or on their way .there, Brigadier-General Johnston being the eldest. Three are in Britain or in Flanders. Another who served in the Boer war, goes into camp with the artillery this week; a son-in-law ison General Bird wood’s stall'; A nephew is also at the front.
