TARANAKI EDUCATION BOARD.

THE WEST WARD VACANCY. Nominations closed on Saturday afternoon for the vacancy in West Ward representation on tho Taranaki Education Board, caused by the resignation of Mr A. M. Bradbury. Two nominations were received, necessitating an election, voting for which will close on Saturday, January 8. The candidates nominated were:— William Young, of Oaonui, nominated by members of the Oaonui, Pihama, and Warea Committees; and Sydney George Smith, of New Plymouth, nominated by tho Central and West End Committee. Mrs Jane R. Dougherty was nominated by the Tataraimaka Committee, but withdrew in favor of Mr Young.
