FORD’S PEACE MISSION, “A HUGE JOKE.” (Received 11.10 a.m.) London, December 10. One thousand wireless messages were received from Ford’s ship announcing rough weather, the passengers being mostly seasick. The missionaries believe that the British will 'detain the Kirkwall and examine the credentials of the passengers, several of whom are German-named, and search for contraband. Those not seasick meet daily and pass resolutions in favor of peace, applauding 1 Ford’s enterprise. Fordists declare that * they know England regards the mission as' a huge joke and a vulgar advertisement, but they believe that the publicity will accelerate peace. Ford wirelessed Reuter several thousand words of Aked’s sermon, comparing the mission to St. Paul and Thomas Clarkson and Nealdow as ‘‘Pilgrim Feathers.” “It may bt*_,” said the preacher, “that Ford will bring a peace conference nearer, and rank with the AN ashingtons and Lincolns. We will erect a peace standard in the neutral European countries whereto all the wise and good will repair.” MUNITION PLANT DESTROYED. EXPLOSION AT BETHLEHEM STEEL COMPANYS’’ WORKS.
