SUBMARINE V, CTIMS. United Pbebr Association. Rome, December 9. The Standard oil tank steamer Communipaw, with 15,000 tons of oil, hound from Genoa to Alexandria, has been sunk near Tobruk by a submarine. A search for survivors was fruitless.
London, December 9. Lloyd’s report that the British steamers Veria and Helsouir, and the steamer Goulaidris have been sunk. The Admiralty states that the French submarine Fresnel was attacked when aground.
The Austrians alleged that a big sailer had been sunk, but it was a ship of only thirty tons. AMERICAN VESSELS SEARCHED. Washingon, December 9. A French cruiser stopped two American steamers, the Coamo and Carolina, off Porto Rico. They seized four German firemen and searched the cargo. It is understood that the United States will not protest. BOMBARDMENT OF DURAZZO. Nish, December 9.
