STRATFORD V. HAWERA. Six rinks from the ■ Stratford Club made the journey to Hawera yesterday and had a very enjoyable outing. The weather was ideal for bowling, and the contest was keenly friendly. A win was registered by the visitors with the substantial number of 20 points. Stratford was “up” in three rinks, Skips Smart, McMillan and Skoglund having that honor, while N. J. King made a tie of it, and Sangster and Masters went under. The following are the scores, Hawera players being mentioned first in each rink:— Black, Burrell, -Adamson, Hollard (s), 22. v. The total scores were: Stratford 120, Hawera 100. i Manaia beat live rinks from Ha--1 urra on Wednesday on the former s j green by 17 points, j West F-nd failed in the third con* i test for the banner yesterday, when | they went under to New Plymouth by 70 to 75. The next banner match will probably be between Hawera and New Plymouth. Fitv.roy beat Waitara yesterday on the latter’s green by four points.
