SUBMARINES EXPLOITS IN THE SEA OF MARMORA.

An Admiralty announcement reveals remarkable success of a British submarine in the Sea of Marmora. , A submarine on December 2 fired into aiyd damaged a train on the lsmid railway. On December 3 she torpedoed and sank a Turkish destroyer, the crew being placed aboard a sailing ship. On December- 4 she sank a supply steamer, of 300 tons, oif Panderma, by gunfire, and also destroyed four sailers, which were carrying supplies. BRITISH STEAMER ON FIRE. Halifax, December 6. The British steamer Carlton, bound for England, ha s arrived here on fire. It is believed to be the work of an incendiary. SUBMARINE VICTIM. (Received 8.25 a.m.) Malta, December 7. The British-India steamer TJoieta was torpedoed. Five officers and forty-seven Lascars are missing, the remainder having landed. AMERICAN OILTANKER ATTACKED. ONE AMERICAN WOUNDED. (Received 1.5 p.m.) "Washington, December 7. The American oiltank steamer Petrolite was attacked in the Mediterranean by an Austrian submarine. One American was wounded. The submarine withdrew when it discovered the Petrolite's nationality.
