THE RUMOURED ATTACK ON EGYPT. , ~..
(Received 10.45 a.m.) Geneva, December 7
The Journal de Geneve states: The German! planned . »•- great effort >by fne Turks in Mesopotamia, which, it seems, is'connected with Persian developments. The railways on Anatola are exclusively in use 1 for war transport. The Germans fear a British landing at AcTana, . whence General Von der Goltz's communications are specially vulnerable. Although the Germans ostenslMy threaten to attack Egypt, it is more probable that they will devote the winter to an attempt to reach the Persian Gulf via Bagdad, but the Sinai railway is already completed to Hafir, sixty miles from Suez.
